Utah County Commissioner Nathan Ivie — “The King of Pork”

UPDATE: Commissioner Nathan Ivie was defeated by 20 points in the June 2020 Republican Primary Election by Tom Sakievich. And of course, he did everything but blame it on his record as a tax and spend commissioner.

(Recommendation: Vote AGAINST him during the June 2020 Republican Party Primary)

Utah County Commissioner Nathan Ivie, Elected 2016

On December 17, 2019 Utah County Commissioner Nathan Ivie defiantly voted to raise Utah County’s property taxes by a whopping 67 percent in a single year despite the fervent pleas of 500+ people who attended a public hearing to voice their opposition. His timing couldn’t have been worse.

Within the last few months 38.6 million Americans have lost their jobs and this includes many Utah County residents who are now financially desperate.

To add insult to injury, we are now learning through an audit of Utah County’s credit card transactions that Commissioner Ivie presided over a long period of out-of-control government spending that included dozens and dozens of gastronomic field trips as well as travel to many high-end hotels, resorts and casinos.

And now he wants to get re-elected . . .  by claiming he’s a fiscal conservative!

During this time of financial hardship Utah County needs a commissioner who will actually stand up to wasteful government spending instead of enabling it. Our county employees are not suffering. Many already have six-figure compensation packages that include generous health care benefits and retirement plans as well as lifetime job security. But the most entitled amongst them also believe taxpayers should pay for their meals and vacations too!

Please, help stop the corruption by voting AGAINST Commissioner Nathan Ivie in the June 2020 Republican Party primary. Utah County needs someone who cares more about helping the county’s struggling residents than increasing the amount of pork in our local government.
